Volunteer Program

HOME > VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Volunteers are an important part of the Sherrill House community and contribute to the well-being of our residents, patients, families, and staff. Volunteers benefit from the warmth, friendship, and appreciation they receive in return. Volunteers are screened and trained in advance and are connected to an appropriate resident and activity that is mutually beneficial and meaningful. We welcome families, groups, and teenagers looking for service hours – and our residents love therapy animals!

Volunteer opportunities vary, and may include:

  • One-on-one visiting with residents and patients
  • Visiting with certified therapy pets
  • Leading or assisting with recreation activities
  • Assisting with pastoral care programming
  • Special event support
  • Clerical support
