YOU ARE INVITED TO SHERRILL HOUSE’S ANNUAL LECTURE ON DEMENTIA CARE

featuring Joanne T. Nowak, M.D. and Robert Buxbaum, M.D.

Dr. Nowak will discuss assessment of pain and discomfort in persons with dementia, and suggest some strategies to help you advocate on behalf of your loved one. Dr. Nowak is a palliative care specialist and the Medical Director of Partners Hospice. She teaches and attends on the Palliative Care Service at Massachusetts General Hospital, directs the hospice fellowship rotation for the Harvard Palliative Medicine Fellowship, and is a board member of the Hospice and Palliative Care Federation of Massachusetts.

Dr. Buxbaum, an internist at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, will offer suggestions for how best to address end-of-life concerns with your loved one's health care providers.  Dr. Buxbaum is a palliative care specialist and an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.  He is a co-founder of the Massachusetts Compassionate Care Coalition.
