Sherrill House Releases Flu Season Visitation Guidelines
At Sherrill House, the health and safety of our patients and residents, their families and our staff is our number one priority. As flu season approaches, Sherrill House Infection Prevention Specialist Karen Hergert, R.N., M.S. offers these guidelines for our visitors: “In the winter months ahead, children who have not received the flu vaccine are strongly encouraged not to visit our facility. In addition, individuals experiencing flu-like symptoms, including fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose or nasal congestion, should postpone their visits to patients and residents at Sherrill House until they are fully recovered. Anyone with an acute illness, such as a cold, stomach virus, or other contagious illness should also reschedule their visit. And if you are visiting, we ask that you please remember to wash your hands frequently while you are in the facility, especially during cold and flu season.”
For the convenience of our visitors, hand sanitizer dispensers are located throughout the building. Thank you for your cooperation in helping us to protect our patients, residents and staff during flu season.
