Sherrill House Establishes

Disaster Relief Fund to Aid Employees

In response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti in January 2010, the Sherrill House Trustees voted to establish the Sherrill House Employee Disaster Relief Fund, conceived to support our employees in their efforts to assist loved ones dealing with this horrific disaster.  Our appeal has received a warm and prompt response, enabling us to provide urgently needed financial assistance to every Haitian employee who has requested it.  This assistance has helped staff members’ families in Haiti obtain such basic necessities as food, water, and temporary shelter, as well as transportation to relocate outside Port-au-Prince.

Sadly, the impact of this disaster will be felt for years to come.  If you would like additional information about how you can support this effort, please contact Melissa Muccioli, Director of Community Outreach and Volunteers, via email at mmuccioli@sherrillhouse.org.  We thank you for your thoughtful generosity during this particularly difficult time in the lives of our employees and their families.

Thank you.
